Design Your Own Program
You must have CAIB or CIP to be eligible for the program, which is comprised of six courses total. You will take three on-demand courses through IBAO:
One course in your chosen stream:
• Advanced Personal Lines (16 Technical Hours)
• Advanced Commercial Lines (16 Technical Hours)
• Business Strategies (20 Management Hours)Claims Management & Administration (16 Technical Hours)
Law & Ethics (20 Management Hours)
You’ll also complete three relevant elective courses, which can be taken from recognized colleges and universities. Please send the elective course descriptions to IBAO for approval before registering.
Self–Study
Study at your own pace with resources and access to an experienced broker for advice.
Exams remain paper based and are held at brokerages on designated dates/times. Students are required to obtain their own proctor and space in their brokerage for their exam. IBAO is unable to support requests for off-site exam locations at this time.
Electives Collection Fee: IBAC charges a $25 transcript fee per elective that must be paid to IBAO. Please confirm your elective course before paying tuition.

Choose your Session*
Enrolment in a semester automatically enrolls you in the paper-based CPIB exam at the end of the term, to be written at your brokerage. The Learner is required to locate a Proctor (Principal Broker or another Manager) and register with the IBAO. Once registered and approved, the Learner is allowed to write the exam at their location. Exam information will be emailed to you approximately 1 month before the semester exam date.
